Possible doxycycline hyclate side effects

Cautions and doxycycline side effects are similar to other members of the tetracycline antibiotic group.

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: difficulty breathing; hives; swelling of your face, tongue, lips, or throat.

Stop using doxycycline and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:
* severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash;
* severe headache, blurred vision, dizziness;
* severe pain in your upper stomach spreading to your back, nausea and vomiting, fast heart rate;
* fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms;
* severe peeling, blistering, and red skin rash;
* pale or yellowed skin, fever, dark colored urine, confusion or weakness;
* severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash;
* loss of appetite, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes); or * easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness.

Less serious side effects may include:
* mild nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or stomach upset;
* white patches or sores inside your mouth or on your lips;
* swollen tongue, trouble swallowing;
* sores or swelling in your rectal or genital area; or
* vaginal discharge or itching.

Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any doxycycline side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.
